A helping paw for the return to school

We love working with our charity partner, Dogs for Good, to learn more about how our wonderful furry friends continually help to improve our lives. With ‘back to school’ season fast approaching, we’ve carried out a survey of parents, and almost all of those who own a dog – 90%! – said their canine companion has had a positive impact in helping their child with the return to school.

Heading back to school can be a big change for children and the family as a whole, offering new challenges that can be as nerve-wracking as they are exciting. With this in mind, we’ve worked with Dogs for Good to offer some tips on how your dog can help to ease your child back into the school routine.

Making sport possible with the help of dogs

Sport plays a significant role in society, creating communities and cultural moments that many enjoy, and it can also bring significant benefits for disabled people. Our research with Dogs for Good shows that nine in 10 (90%) disabled people who participate in sport, whether they’re spectating or competing, say that it has changed their lives for the better.

Dogs play a major role in facilitating access to sport for disabled people, including for Paul and his Dogs for Good assistance dog, Nita – find out more about their story in the video below!

Changing lives together

Back in 2021, MORE THAN turned 20. We wanted to celebrate by partnering with an organisation that makes an impact in the world and focus our efforts on helping them make an even bigger impact. Dogs for Good supports so many people with their fantastic dogs and we are delighted to support the life-changing work that Dogs for Good do daily. Check out some of their incredible success stories.

Our puppy pledge

Part of our pledge to Dogs for Good is to sponsor five of their puppies. We will give the puppies the support and funding they need for their whole lives. By doing this, we’ll be helping Dogs for Good put the puppies through training, partnering them with a client, and covering the aftercare costs.

Our puppies are named Damson, Darcy, Delta, DeeDee, and Ernie. They are currently with their volunteer families for the first important part of their training. Check out how they're getting on in their training one year on.

After approximately 18 months of training, including time with specialist dog trainers, these puppies will be ready to support adults or children with disabilities, or children with autism, to live a better life.  We can’t wait for these puppies to make a world of difference to those that need them.
