How to make a landlord insurance claim

If you've experienced a home emergency

Call our 24/7 home emergency helpline on 0330 102 4098.

We'll send a MORE THAN authorised tradesperson to carry out urgent repairs. You're covered up to £1,000 if you have home emergency cover included with your policy.

If you don't have home emergency cover, you'll need to arrange the urgent repairs yourself and make a claim.

For more extensive repairs, such as fixing the damage, you'll need to make a claim.

To make a Landlord claim, sign in to your claims account.

If you haven't made a claim online before, you'll need to create a new account.

You can chat with us through Live Chat within your account if you need any help with your claim.

Before you start your claim

Please check your excess amounts, which are in your policy schedule. This document was sent to you by post or email when you took out your Landlord policy.

When you make your claim, have the following to hand:

  • Your policy number, which you can find in your policy schedule
  • Photos of the damage
  • Proof of purchase such as invoices and receipts
  • Supporting documents such as repair and replacement estimates or invoices for completed repairs
  • Tenancy Agreement if applicable
  • If you're making a theft or malicious damage claim, we'll need a crime reference number. Please ensure you have notified the police before completing your claim

What happens next?

  1. After you've submitted your claim, it will be passed to a dedicated claims handler
  2. They will review the details and get in touch with the next steps
  3. You will usually hear from them the same day or the next working day
  4. We'll normally ask you to source your own repairs and get an itemised quote for this, if needed
