Accident only
Throughout your pet’s life, they might experience some scrapes and need a visit to the vet. When this happens, accident only cover will allow you to claim up to £2,500 for up to 12 months or until your vet fee limit is reached.
Included in accident only pet insurance
- Accidental damage: if your pet accidentally damages someone else’s personal property, you can claim up to £500
- Third party liability: if you’re a dog owner, you’re legally responsible if your dog injures someone or damages their property. This is why you’ll get up to £500,000 cover. Exclusions apply
- Lost and found and Farewell cover can be added to your policy
Not included in accident only pet insurance
- Accidents that happen before or within the first 48 hours of your policy start date
- Any changes you or your vet notice in the health or behaviour of your pet before your policy started
- Treatment for any cruciate ligament (within the knee) problems, however, caused
- Emergency Boarding, Pet’s Abroad and Complimentary Treatment are not included with this pet insurance type
- Each accident or injury is covered for up to £2,500 or for 12 months of treatment, whichever is reached first. Once the £2,500 or 12 month limit has been reached, you will not be able to claim further for that accident or injury
Basic
This cover type is also known as Time Limited cover. Basic pet insurance will cover your pet’s accidents and illnesses for 12 months from the start of the treatment they need or until the vet fees limit you’ve chosen is reached.
Included in basic pet insurance
- Vet fees: if your pet falls ill or has an accident causing costly vet fees to get them back on their paws, you can claim up to £1,500 or £3,000, depending on your chosen vet fees limit
- Accidental damage: if your pet accidentally damages someone else’s personal property, you can claim up to £500
- Third party liability: if you’re a dog owner, you’re legally responsible if your dog injures someone or damages their property. This is why you’ll get up to £1,000,000 cover. Exclusions apply
- Emergency boarding: if you're in the hospital for more than 4 days in a row, you can claim up to £1,000 to cover any pet boarding costs
- Lost and Found, Pet’s Abroad and Farewell cover can be added to your policy
Not included in basic pet insurance
- Any changes you or your vet notice in the health or behaviour of your pet before this policy started
- Any illnesses your pet has in the first 14 days of your cover start date
- Any accidents that happen in the first 48 hours of your cover start date
- Treatment for any cruciate ligament (within the knee) problems during the first 14 days of your cover start date
- Depending on the cover level you choose, each injury or illness is covered for up to £1,500 or £3,000, or for 12 months of treatment, whichever is reached first. Once the vet fees limit or 12 month time limit has been reached, you will not be able to claim further for that injury or illness
Classic
This cover type is also known as Maximum Benefit pet insurance. Classic pet insurance will cover your pet’s accidents and illnesses until the vet fees limit you’ve chosen is reached. You can choose either £4,000 or £8,000 as your vet fees limit.
Included with classic pet insurance
- Vet fees: if your pet falls ill or has an accident causing costly vet fees to get them back on their paws, you can claim up to £4,000 or £8,000, depending on your chosen vet fees limit
- Accidental damage: if your pet accidentally damages someone else’s personal property, you can claim up to £1,000
- Third party liability: if you’re a dog owner, you’re legally responsible if your dog injures someone or damages their property. This is why you’ll get up to £2,000,000 cover. Exclusions apply
- Lost and found: claim towards the cost of advertising or offering a reward for your pets safe return if they roam away from home
- Emergency boarding: if you're in hospital for more than 4 days in a row, you can claim up to £1,000 to cover any pet boarding costs
- Pet’s abroad: if you want to take your pet along with you on your next adventure, we can cover them for healthcare and emergency expenses in a number of European countries
- Farewell cover can be added to your policy
Not included with classic pet insurance
- The cover for a medical condition will stop when the vet fees limit is reached and you won’t be able to claim on that medical condition again
- Any changes you or your vet notice in the health or behaviour of your pet before this policy started
- Any illnesses your pet has in the first 14 days of your cover start date
- Any accidents that happen in the first 48 hours of your cover start date
- Treatment for any cruciate ligament (within the knee) problems during the first 14 days of your cover start date
Premier
This cover type is also known as Lifetime cover. Premier pet insurance will cover your pet’s accidents as well as one-off, re-occurring and ongoing illnesses. Each accident and illness will be covered up to the vet fee limit each year, depending on the amount you choose (up to £6,000), providing the policy is renewed with no break in cover.
Included with premier pet insurance
- Vet fees: choose from up to £1,000, £2,000, £4,000 or £6,000 for each accident or illness. There is no limit to the number of accidents or illnesses you can claim for
- Third party liability: if you’re a dog owner, you’re legally responsible if your dog injures someone or damages their property. This is why you’ll get up to £3,000,000 cover for added peace of mind. Exclusions apply
- Lost and found: claim towards the cost of advertising or offering a reward for your pets safe return if they roam away from home
- Emergency boarding: if you're in the hospital for more than 4 days in a row, you can claim up to £1,000 to cover any pet boarding costs
- Pets abroad: if you want to take your pet along with you on your next adventure, we can cover them for healthcare and emergency expenses in a number of European countries
- Treatment food and Dental care: if your pet needs special treatment food or develops behavioural problems, we provide cover for these often expensive treatments and dental care up to £2,000
- Farewell cover: although we don’t like to think of life without our beloved pets, when the time comes, we can help cover the cost of your pet is put to sleep by a vet. When they pass away, we will help cover the cost of cremation or burial

Lost and found cover
If you’re worried about where your pet has ventured off to, we can help. You’ll be able to claim for the costs of advertising that they’re missing or if you offer a reward for their safe return home.
This cover is included with classic and premier pet insurance or can be added to a basic pet insurance policy for an additional fee. This optional extra can’t be added to an accidents only policy.
Pet’s abroad cover
We know that it can be hard to leave your pet behind. That’s why we offer pet’s abroad cover, so you can take the whole family on an adventure abroad. With our pet’s abroad cover, you’ll have added peace of mind with healthcare and emergency expenses in a number of European countries covered.
This cover is included with classic and premier pet insurance or can be added to a basic pet insurance policy for an additional fee. This optional extra can’t be added to an accident only policy.
