Our three top tips for a tidy Christmas

Christmas has arrived early with our latest Helping Hands video. We let you in on some great tips so you can have a stress free Christmas, instead of a Christ-mess...

Yes, it’s that time of year again to dig out the fairy lights, decorate the tree and wrap the mountain of presents currently filling your wardrobe to bursting point.

As fun and festive as it all is, there is one thing we can all agree on; tidying up is no fun.

So whether you like to allocate one day to get it all done or you like to sustain that festive spirit right up until the night before, grab your eggnog and watch our latest Helping Hands video.

We show you three really handy tips that ensure you won't be tidying when you could be stuffing yourself with mince pies.

1. Eggcelent

Santa and his elves couldn’t create better storage for your baubles than an empty egg box.

Provided your baubles aren’t the size of a Christmas pudding they should fit perfectly into an old box, ready for if the dog decides to play fetch with the ones attached to the tree.

You can even label the boxes so that next year can be the most efficient Christmas yet. Just don’t cook a bauble for breakfast.

2. Fairy easy

We love fairy lights, but what we don’t love is untangling them.

An old clothes hanger is perfect for wrapping your lights around as it makes for extremely easy storage, you can even spread them over more than one, depending on the amount of lights you’re using.

If you want to be even more organised, colour code the hangars so you don’t need to mess around trying to work out what colour the lights are.

This tip will also work for tinsel or other decorations that might get tangled.

3. That's a wrap

Wrapping, you either love it or you hate it; either way we all dislike it unrolling.

So once you’ve used up your toilet roll from crying over last night’s Christmas film, cut through one half lengthways, then place it around your wrapping paper.

This will keep your paper from unrolling and potentially getting damaged. If you want to be really festive, wrap your toilet roll in tin foil and voila, you have a festive paper wrap.

So, now you’ve got all the tips to make this Christmas, and many more to come, efficient and slightly less stressful.
