The different time and vet fees limits that apply when you buy Premier, Classic, Basic or Accident Only pet insurance.
Different pet policies have different time and vet fees limits.
Treatment can continue until the vet fees limit is reached, or after 12 months has passed from the date the accident was first treated, whichever is sooner, as long as the policy remains in force. You will then not be able to claim for any further vet fees for that accident.
The time limit is 12 months for treatment for each new medical condition, up to a set vet fees limit. Each medical condition is covered for 12 months as long as your policy remains in force. If the vet fee limit or 12 month period is reached, payments will stop for that condition and it will be excluded from future claims.
Classic policies are not limited to 12 months of treatment. The vet fees limit is up to either £4,000 or £8,000 for each new medical condition, depending on which policy you choose. Each condition is covered until the vet fees limit has been reached, as long as your policy remains in force there is no time limit on a claim. Once the vet fee limit has been reached, payments will stop for that condition and it will be excluded from future claims.
Premier lifetime policies give you up to either £4,000 or £12,000 of cover, per year, for vet treatment for your pet. The vet fees limit will be reinstated each year, providing cover is made available to you and you renew.
