Do I need to pay an excess for my claim?

When you make a claim under the loss or damage section of your policy, we’ll apply the relevant excess to the claim.

It can be made up of a compulsory excess and a voluntary excess.

The excess is specific to the incident and may be a different amount for windscreen, fire, theft or accidental damage.

Please check your policy schedule where you will find the excesses that apply to your policy.

There may be certain occasions where an excess is not required. For example, if you're involved in an accident involving an uninsured driver that wasn't your fault. If you're able to provide the registration and description of the other vehicle, we'll reimburse your excess after we’ve completed our enquiries.
