What is Accidental Damage cover?
Accidental Damage cover is an optional add-on that’s there to help you when the unexpected happens. It can protect your home, your belongings or both, depending on what kind of cover you choose.
This includes accidents in the home like spilling wine on the carpet, a football going through the window or the TV getting knocked over.
At More Than, Accidental Damage cover is standard with More Than Premium Home Insurance.
If you’ve got More Than or More Than Plus Home Insurance, you can add Accidental Damage to your policy by getting in touch with us.

What isn’t covered by Accidental Damage?
Here’s a few examples of what Accidental Damage doesn’t cover.
- Items torn or chewed by pets - Accidental Damage doesn’t cover pet damage, like clawing on sofas or tearing apart shoes
- Undeclared items - Our standard claims limit is £2,000 for undeclared items. You need to declare items worth more than this, or you’ll only be able to claim up to £2,000 if they’re damaged. Head to our High Risk Item page to learn more.
- Gradual wear and tear - Damage that happens slowly over time is known as wear and tear. Accidental Damage doesn’t cover this as it doesn’t happen from one unexpected incident.
