With beautiful architecture, winding canals and divine food; this Italian city says I love you without uttering a word. Taking a relaxing gondola ride or strolling through St. Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco) is usually at the top of most people’s to do list when visiting Venice, but here are some other gems you can discover when you’re there.

Take a trip to the de-consecrated church of San Vidal where the Ineterpreti Veneziani musicians have played for over 25 years. Their performances take place most evenings and include plenty of Vivaldi to pluck at your heart strings.

Alternatively, enjoy a romantic drink at the iconic birthplace of the Bellini cocktail – Harry’s Bar – in Sestieri San Marco, followed by a show at La Fenice opera house.

Declare your love the Italian way – Ti amo.

This classic getaway is perfect for a weekend break. It might be an oldie but we think it’s the ultimate romantic destination.

Why not head to the Place des Abbessess for a photo opportunity in front of the beautiful Le mur des je t'aime (The wall of I love yous), which features declarations of love in 250 languages.

If you fancy doing dinner a little differently, then why not sit along the banks of the Canal Saint-Martin, where you can have freshly baked pizzas delivered to you by bicycle from the ovens of the nearby pizza parlours on Rue Bichat.  It’s a romantic waterside treat if you don’t fancy a busy restaurant.

Declare your love in French – J’taime.

Las Vegas

Fancy splashing out on a truly glamourous Valentine’s Day?  Fly to the city that never sleeps for a weekend of decadent entertainment, rooftop roller coasters and utter indulgence.

The Bellagio fountains on the boulevard, complete with music and beautiful dancing water never fail to wow, and while the hotel might not be free, it is free to sit and enjoy the glorious fountains.

Le Reve is a visual wonder with incredible acrobats, outstanding costumes and awesome visual effects. Similar to Cirque du Soleil, Le Reve explores dreams and vision and its performers appear when you least expect them to, they even pop up amongst the audience.

Declare your love in Las Vegas – visit to the Little White Chapel, anyone?
