What should I do if my dog or cat has been involved in an accident?

Find out whether you need to make a claim if your pet has been involved in an accident.

Minor accidents

If your pet's been involved in a minor accident and you don't think their life is at risk, you can call vetfone at any time of day or night on 0800 072 8190 for further advice. If they advise you to see a vet, their staff can help to locate your nearest urgent treatment centre.

Serious accidents

If your pet's been involved in a more serious accident and you think their life may be at risk, you should see a vet as soon as possible.

If your pet has seen a vet and you would like to start making a claim you can download the pet claim form. We may be able to pay your vet directly.
