Top Tips for Smooth Claims
- Take any travel insurance claim helpline numbers and your policy booklet with you
- Lost luggage – make sure you fill in a form called ‘Property Irregularity Report’ at the airport as soon as your luggage has gone missing – enclose it with your claim
- Travel delays – get a signed document from the airline detailing reasons for the delay and the scheduled and actual time you left and time you arrived
- If you have money or belongings stolen, report it to the local police immediately and keep the Police Report
- Take a photocopy of your passport away with you – it will facilitate organising a replacement if yours is stolen
