No. You're covered while you are away providing you don't leave your home empty
for more than 60 days. If you're planning to be away for longer than 60 days,
simply contact us to arrange for your cover to be extended.
They'll all be replaced on a new-for-old basis (except for clothing
where a wear and tear deduction may be made). Most new items will be delivered
to your door.
In most cases, it shouldn't make a difference to your policy.
However, for the small number of cases where the number of claims are well
above the average, we may alter the terms of cover and/or increase the premium
when it's time to renew the policy. If you have a break-in, we'll offer
suggestions on home security and may ask you to carry out security improvements
at your next renewal.
You're free to cancel your insurance within 14 days of receiving
your policy documentation and we’ll refund all your premium, unless you’ve
already made a claim.
On occasions, a tenant might carry out some improvements to their
rented home at their own cost (e.g. fitted wardrobes, fitted cupboards or
shelves). These items belong to the tenant and not the landlord, so will NOT be
covered under the landlord's buildings insurance.
It may be possible to include tennants improvement cover under your
Home insurance policy. The cover includes loss or damage to fixed tenants'
improvements and internal decorations up to a value of £6,000 caused by Fire,
Flood, Escape of water, Riot, Malicious damage, Theft, Subsidence, Falling
trees, Branches, Satellite equipment, Aerials and Collision involving aircraft
and is subject to the usual exclusions of the Buildings cover section.

You get contents cover free when you buy our buildings insurance.
Contents cover will be provided free of charge for the life of your
policy so long as you don’t claim.
We will provide you with up to £75,000 contents cover free of
charge. This offer does not include any optional extras. e.g. full accidental
damage cover, personal possessions or high risk items.
No – free contents is only available to customers who purchase
Buildings insurance as well.
If you make a claim under the contents section of your policy
excluding accident damage claims A Buildings cover claim will not result in the
loss Free Standard Contents being disallowed, only a Contents claim. The
customer will lose their Free Standard Contents discount at next renewal.
Even if you move house you will still be eligible for Free contents
so long as you continue to insure your buildings cover with us.
