Frequently Asked Questions

Will my policy be affected if I go away on holiday?

No. You're covered while you are away providing you don't leave your home empty for more than 60 days. If you're planning to be away for longer than 60 days, simply contact us to arrange for your cover to be extended.

How are lost or damaged items replaced?

They'll all be replaced on a new-for-old basis (except for clothing where a wear and tear deduction may be made). Most new items will be delivered to your door.

Will it affect my policy if I claim?

In most cases, it shouldn't make a difference to your policy. However, for the small number of cases where the number of claims are well above the average, we may alter the terms of cover and/or increase the premium when it's time to renew the policy. If you have a break-in, we'll offer suggestions on home security and may ask you to carry out security improvements at your next renewal.

What can I do if I change my mind?

You're free to cancel your insurance within 14 days of receiving your policy documentation and we’ll refund all your premium, unless you’ve already made a claim.

I am a Tenant, will any improvements made to my home be covered under this policy?

On occasions, a tenant might carry out some improvements to their rented home at their own cost (e.g. fitted wardrobes, fitted cupboards or shelves). These items belong to the tenant and not the landlord, so will NOT be covered under the landlord's buildings insurance.
